August 29th to Sept 1st 2011- Battle of the Breeds 2011 at the Pacific National Exhibition. Three out of 4 of the team Paint horses are owned by Canoa Farms. We finished in the money in third place . It was the Quarter Horses year to shine. We had so much fun. This is a great event.

Friday May 13th 2011- Our first APHA Breeders Trust fund foal is born . Huntin for a Star. Homoyzgous for the Tobiano Gene a beautiful chestnut filly (aka) Freddie. Our of Bar J Zanda's Beauty by The Huntsman.

December 2010- Three of Canoa Farms Paint horses are in the top 5 for the Nation in the PAC "Over Fences" Catagory. In 5th place "The Huntsman" not bad for his first year of showing. Our mare Bar J Zanda's Beauty whom suffered a bad accident and was never going to be able to be shown again had a fabulous recovery and was still in the top 3 , Winddancers Cimaron was #1 in the Nation.

Nov 28th 2010 - Henry goes to his first show. With only minutes to warm-up after getting off the trailer he heads into his first class at Windsor Stables Hunter Jumper Tropy show and goes around like he has done this hundreds of times and wins the class. In 3 classes he came home with a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd not bad for his first show. Henry is the first of "The Huntsman" foals to be old enough to show under saddle. We are very excited for both Henry and Hunter!!

Nov 25th- First ride on our new horse "Lord of the Hunt" by The Huntsman aka Henry in the snow.

Nov 18th 2010 - Ron and Kelly take a drive all the way to Salem Oregon to pickup "Lord of the Hunt" a 2007 APHA gelding by The Huntsman to bring him back to his new own at Canoa Farms. We look forward to starting aka "Henry" in the baby green hunter ring in 2011. He has fabulous movement that should win him the hack classes.

Oct 17th 2010- The Huntsman and Zanda (Bar J Zandas Beauty/Kaliedoscope ) go to the last point hunter jumper show of the year at Windsor Stables. The Huntsman comes home with a new cooler after winning the High Point Hack Championship for the show.

Sept 23-26th 2010 -Winddancers Cimaron and Bar J Zandas Beauty (Kaleidoscope) head to Milner Downs for the last "A" hunter show of the year for the BC Hunter Jumper Fall Final. Cimaron and Ron win 6 out of 8 of there jumper classes and the Championship to finish the year in #1 place the the BCHJA year end in the 0.85m Jr/Ami Jumper division. Zanda and Kelly win the Championship in the Long Stirrup Equitation Hunters.

Sept 19th 2010- Kelly and Bar J Zandas Beauty (Kaleidoscope) head to windsor for their monthly hunter jumper show and win Champion Hack for the day and Champion 2'6" Hunter

Sept 2010- We sold our Mare Stylen Jaynee to Corey Maher of Langley BC and are looking forward to hearing about the foal she is carrying by "The Huntsman". Corey is planning showing Jaynee in the hunter ring once the foal is born.

Sept 10-12 2010 - Winddancers Cimaron and Bar J Zandas Beauty (Kaliedoscope) head to MREC Fall Classic for the last BC Hunter Jumper show of the year until the Fall Finally. Cimaron comes home with 2 Championships in the 0.85m jumper ring and Zanda receives 1 reserve Championship in the 0.75m jumper ring and 2 Reserve Championships behind Cimaron in the 0.85m jumper ring but she wins all three class the last day even betting Cimaron and Ron in the 0.85m ring.

Ron and Kelly also competed in a Derby with 19 fences. Zanda and Kelly where the first clear round after 4 goes and set the pace high. Ron would have won the class with the fastest time but had 4 faults putting him on top of all the 4 fault rounds. Zanda and Kelly finish 4th out of a field of 12 and Ron was 6th not bad for our first big derby course.

Sept 4-6th 2010- Bar J Zanda's Beauty and The Huntsman head to Barrier for the North Thompson Fall fair and Rodeo to ride with the Grand Entry Team "BIT-A-BLING" They had 3 fantastic performances over the 3 day show opening the rodeo everyday on a team of 14 other riders.

August 31st-Sept 2 2010 - Winddancers Cimaron and Bar J Zandas Beauty are part of the winning "BATTLE OF THE BREEDS" team at the PACIFIC NATIONAL EXCIBITION. The "PAINT" Zanda won the Dressage phase and Cimaron was the Jumper winner

August 12-15th 2010- Maple Ridge Dog Days of Summer Hunter Jumper Show. The Huntsman is on the winning Team Relay team along with APHA gelding Winddancers Cimaron on Friday night. Saturday nigh he placed 2nd out of a field of 15 seasoned competitors in the $500 MREC Derby with Christa Byrd riding him. Click here to see Video

August 8th 2010- CoghlanPark Derby Show "The Huntsman" had his first real Derby with owner Kelly Allen riding him. It was a large course with 13 fences and he had to gallop though the water. He did 2 derby's and had the fastest time in both the 2'3" and the 2'6" Derby out of 13 other horses winning both events. Ron and Winddancers Cimaron won both the 2'9" Derby's and the 3'. Keeping him on top of the Pack leader board.

"The Huntsman" racked up another 8 PAC points in the "Over Fences" category putting him in the top 5 for the Nation.

Next weekend we are heading to Maple Ridge Equestrian Centre to show in the 0.75 and 0.85m Jumper rings.

June 27th- Ron and Winddancers Cimaron just returned home from other first "Gold" Hunter jumper Show at Milner Downs where he showed in the Schooling Jumper 0.85 meter and Jr/Ami 0.90 meter divisions . He came home with a truck full of ribbons and a Championship in the 0.85 meter division. Ron is still leading in the Jr/Ami 0.85 meter division for year end awards.

June 20th 2010- We took 2 horses to Coghlan Park for the Jumper Series show they are having. Both horses did very well "The Huntsman" won 3 2 and 2 4th in class up to 20 horses. Cimaron and Ron of course one all 4 of their classes and won a cooler. Ron and Cimaron are heading to the first big "A" show this week at Milner Downs.

June 13th 2010- Kelly and "The Huntsman" win the Novice Hunter 2'6" Class at Windsor stables sponsored by Short Stirrup Stables and win a saddle pad.

May 8th 2010- Ron and Winddancers Cimaron win the 2'9" Jr Ami Jumper class at Maple Ridge Mothers Day Show then go on to win the $500 Jr/Ami Mini Prix.

May 2nd 2010- Picture to the right is of Ron and Winddancers Cimaron at the Kelowna Spring Classic hunter jumper show where they won the 2'9" BCHJA Jun/Ami 0.85m jumper Championship. Ron also won the Get Acquainted 0.75m Jumper Championship on our mare Bar J Zandas Beauty (Kaliedoscope)

April 24th 2010- Showing at Thunderbird Show Park both our horses Cimaron and Zanda make history by winning the same jumper class out of 30 horses with 2 double clear rounds with the same jump off time of 38.81 the chances of this ever happening again luck winning a lottery. To have the same time to the 100th of a second. Not bad for a couple ranch horses from Alberta.

April 18th 2010- The Huntsman wins Reserve Champion Hack at the Windsor Hunter Jumper show.

Sept 2009- Well on our way to completing the new barn with a all weather 95 x 195 sand ring.

August 2009- We sold our 1.2 acre farm and purchased a 5 acre property not far from the old property.

July 2009- We purchased and Imported a new HomozygousTobiano Black and White Paint stallion called "The Huntsman". Hunter comes from proven jumping stock and has full siblings winning in the Hunter and Jumper rings as well as himself! It’s no wonder with a pedigree containing such greats as Dixie War Drum, Secretariat, Bold Ruler, War Admiral and Man O’War twice as well as AQHA Hall Of Fame sires Depth Charge, Poco Bueano, King and Peter McCue!
